This route follows Glacier trail to a high camp in the basin below the peak. Here you climb the Gooseneck Ridge and Gooseneck Gully (steep ice or snow) to gain the summit ridge. Hop boulders and skip through flowering meadows for a few more miles until you find yourself encircled by granite and glaciers, an orgy of mountains. The crux is a somewhat steeper snow climb above a crevasse that may or may not have a snow bridge. The route to Gannett is mostly easy for the first 22 miles, the main challenges are endurance, mosquitos, and stream crossings.
